NOTE CARDS

The images of these 4 of my paintings have been made into NOTECARDS. Each card (with one image on the front) measures 5.5" x 4.25" and are blank inside. They are the perfect size to send a "thank you" or quick "hello" for those of us that aren't always electronically inclined for our correspondence. These cards (note that the professional printer that made these up for me did a much better job of reproducing the images than I did here!) and envelopes have been in high demand. If you would like any of these just send me an email!

"UNDERWATER TOO"

"UNDERWATER TOO"  Living on the Outer Banks of NC I have water all around me so it serves as inspiration in many of my paintings. This abstract painting and "Underwater" shown below are complimentary abstracts. I have used many textural elements that cannot be captured in a picture (of course, it would help if I could improve my photography skills!) I am showing them both unframed and framed to give you a better idea of what they look like. These are acrylic and mixed media paintings on canvas board and the framed size is 8"x10"

UNDERWATER

"UNDERWATER" This painting is the compliment to "UNDERWATER TOO" shown above.

"WET TOES"

"WET TOES" Can't you just feel the water splashing on your toes! Go ahead and jump in! This is an acrylic painting on an 8"x10" stretched canvas.

"BIG WAVE"

"BIG WAVE"
You can't really tell in the picture, but there are many textural elements I added such as micro glass beads, mica flakes and built-up gel medium. These two abstracts were fun to paint. They really make you want to go jump in the ocean!

This piece and the one below, Little Wave, were done for an abstract art show during September at the ArtSpace Gallery in the Southern Crossing shopping center in Southern Shores, NC (go to the Art Space facebook page http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ARTspace/129069240463727  - there is a picture of me standing by the beautifully framed "Big Wave" and "Little Wave" at the show opening!!!!!). This is a mixed media painting on an 8"x10" board canvas.

UPDATE:  September 7th at 7 pm:  I just got an email from ArtSpace letting me know that this painting sold today. But don't worry, I can paint another one just for you!

"LITTLE WAVE"

"LITTLE WAVE"  Please see the description above for Big Wave. This "Little Wave" is a mixed media painting on a 5"x7" board canvas.

UPDATE:  September 7th at 7 pm:  I just got an email from ArtSpace letting me know that this painting also sold today with "Big Wave."  I guess I'd better get my easel out and get back to work!

"FREE BEER TOMORROW"

"FREE BEER TOMORROW"  The inspiration for this painting is a photo I took of this building located in the Florida Keys. What a statement on life! There is always the promise of FREE BEER TOMORROW, but alas when you go back tomorrow, it's still TODAY. So live for today, not for the promise of tomorrow! This is an acrylic painting on a 9"x12" stretched canvas.

"KEY WEST SUNRISE"

"KEY WEST SUNSET" The Outer Banks are great, but I was surprised a number of years ago to discover how many Outer Bankers go to the Florida Keys in the winter. Look closely and you will see the cars driving by the bar at the marina to go park, then go have a drink, relax and watch the rest of the sunset. This is an acrylic painting on an 8"x10" stretched canvas.

"MAJESTIC SUNRISE"

The clouds move with the swift mountain breeze,
the red on the blooms and green of the leaves,
a winding creek passes bushes and trees,
a "Majestic Sunrise" indeed.

"MAJESTIC SUNRISE" I think this painting speaks for itself. It's so inspiring that my wonderful wordsmith son, Eric, wrote the poem above after seeing this painting. This is an acrylic painting on an 11"x14" stretched canvas.
